Why you should consider a WordPress site

Many organizations come to us wanting a modern, state of the art, responsive website, with all the bells and whistles …but they also want something they can manage and update on their own.  I almost always recommend WordPress, the user-friendly Content Management System used by millions of individuals & business owners world-wide.  I have been an advocate for WordPress for some time now, even when it was known as being “just a blog site”.  Today, WordPress has evolved into a powerful tool for constructing dynamic websites and is now one of the top CMS provider’s for non-blogging websites.  If you’re not familiar with WordPress, here’s 4 reasons why your organization should be:

No HTML Editing or FTP Software Required

The average person doesn’t know how to code a website and with WordPress they don’t have to!  My number one reason I recommend WordPress is that it requires zero HTML or coding knowledge.  WordPress boasts an  easy, intuitive interface that makes updating your website a breeze.  You can change text, add images, create new pages and more with just a few clicks.

Save Money

Hiring a web developer to create a custom backend portal with all your desired functions can become very costly.  WordPress itself is free and creating a custom template for WordPress typically takes a web developer half the time, saving money you would have to pay someone to develop your website.  And because you can now make most of the site’s updates yourself, you don’t have to pay your designer to make changes for you.

Flexible & Customizable

The design and function of your website is 100% customizable, and you can easily add functionality to your site with WordPress plugins, most of which are free.  From video galleries to event calendars, WordPress’ huge library of Plugins allows you to extend.  Even though WordPress sites all start with the same management system, you won’t find two that are alike because it’s so easy to craft your site exactly how you want it to look.

SEO Friendly

Because WordPress structures its content extremely well and the code is so clean and simple, it tends to rank higher with Google and other search engines (compared to static websites).  WordPress also makes it easy for you to add meta tag keywords, description, titles and more to each individual page, allowing for a more precise search engine optimization.  Of course it’s possible to add SEO attributes to any website but once again, this would normally require some form of coding knowledge.

If you’re starting to think about a website redesign or need a new website developed, you should definitely consider WordPress!  If you would like to learn more about WordPress, contact us today!
